A Lewiston man will spend 47 years behind bars for killing the mother of his child.

According to CBS 13 news, 26-year-old Jaquille Coleman was sentenced Friday for the killing of 19-year-old Natasha Morgan in August of 2020.

Morgan’s family says she was shot in front of her mother and the child, who was not hurt. Her aunt also says Morgan was planning to escape an abusive relationship with Coleman, intending to get a protection from abuse order against him before her death.

Coleman was arrested in Mississippi and found guilty by a jury back in November.
