LEWISTON, Maine (AP)   A Maine man was sentenced to serve nearly 10 years in prison on drug and gun charges stemming from two separate arrests.

Prosecutors say 29-year-old David Tyree Brown pleaded guilty Monday to reckless conduct with a firearm. The Sun Journal reports he had been convicted in September on four charges of aggravated drug trafficking.

On those charges he received a 10-year-sentence with two years suspended.

Prosecutors said Brown had been dealing crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of an elementary school, a factor that boosted the trafficking charge to a higher class of crime.
