Light Earthquake Hits Near York County Town

An earthquake hit southern Maine Sunday night at around 9:20.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the 1.9 magnitude earthquake occurred near Limington, roughly 6.6 miles under the ground.

As of late Monday morning, 80 people have reported to USGS that they had felt the quake.

The earthquake was recorded by 19 seismic monitoring stations operated by the USGS.
