Lightning Hits New Balance Factory in Skowhegan

A rooftop fire broke out when the Skowhegan New Balance factory was struck by lightning Friday night.

The Portland Press Herald reports local firefighters quickly put out the fire after it was reported around 6:30 p.m.

The factory is located on Walnut Street.

Skowhegan Fire Chief Shawn Howard said damage was minimal and will not affect operations at the factory.
