Lightning Strike Causes Fire in South Berwick

A home is heavily damaged after a fire in South Berwick Wednesday afternoon.

Our info partners at CBS 13 News report the fire on Dover Eliot Road was caused by a lightning strike, which struck a tree next to the home, causing the underground gas line to rupture and send flames into the home.

Firefighters responded the scene after 4 p.m. Wednesday. The South Berwick Fire Department says no one was injured in the blaze.
