Iconic Maine outdoor retailer LL Bean is expanding with an outlet location in Biddeford.

The company is planning to open a 14,500-square-foot outlet store at Biddeford Crossing, in an existing space near the Market Basket grocery store.

The new LL Bean is expected to open in late April and employ about 30 people.

It’ll be the company’s fourth outlet in Maine, joining locations in Freeport, Bangor and Ellsworth.

L.L. Bean was founded in 1912 by Leon Leonwood Bean, and is a privately held, family-owned company headquartered in Freeport.
