The Maine Office of Cannabis Policy is warning about unsafe vape devices.
The agency has issued a Medical Cannabis Patient Advisory for ChoicesLab 2-in-1 disposable vape devices sold by Klouds Society in Winslow.
The advisory comes after testing of the Sweet Citrus x WarHeads flavored vapes showed varying unsafe levels of five different pesticides, including bifenthrin, chlorfenapyr, cypermethrin, malathion, and permethrin.
The Office of Cannabis Policy says it initiated testing after receiving a complaint that the vapes were not functioning properly. Upon investigating, the Office discovered that the vapes had been purchased from outside of the regulated market.
Inhaling cannabis containing unsafe levels of pesticides can cause respiratory irritation, neurological effects, and/or flu-like symptoms.
Anyone who has ingested the products mentioned above and is experiencing symptoms or adverse reactions should contact a healthcare provider.
