Maine CDC reports 3 new deaths, 20 more COVID-19 cases

AUGUSTA (WGME) — The number of Maine residents who have died from coronavirus now tops 30 as more new cases are also being reported Saturday.

The Maine Center for Disease Control said 20 new cases drove up the total amount of COVID-19 cases to 847.

The with three new deaths reported, the total has reached 32.

The increases come as another long term care facility, Ashton Gardens in Portland, is reporting four positive tests among its resident.

The number of patients who have recovered from COVID-19, 383, rose by 30, with only three more hospitalizations, the Maine CDC said.

Cumberland County continues to lead the way with 369 cases. York County now has 175, with Kennebec County closing in on 100 cases with 96.

Community transmission of the coronavirus has been confirmed in Cumberland, York, Androscoggin and Penobscot counties by the Maine CDC.
