Maine election officials to conduct ranked choice tabulations this week

AUGUSTA, Maine (WGAN) Election officials will tabulate votes Tuesday morning to determine the winner in a key race using ranked choice.

The Secretary of State’s Office says the tabulation of ranked choice election results from last Tuesday’s primary will take place in Augusta on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Tabulations will include results in the state’s 2nd Congressional District, where Dale Crafts is the presumptive nominee in the GOP House primary. His opponents, Adrienne Bennett and Eric Brakey, conceded the race, but Crafts failed to reach 50% of the vote, triggering a ranked choice count.

Officials will also tabulate ranked choice votes in four House Districts and one Senate District.
