Maine eyes tighter controls on pesticide use at schools

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) A committee of the Maine Legislature has approved a proposal designed to provide better access to information about pesticides on school grounds.

The Legislature’s Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry voted in favor of the proposal on Tuesday. The proposal requires schools to submit pest management activity logs and post public inspection results.

It will now go to the full Maine Senate and Maine House of Representatives.
