The Maine CDC says customers who bought food from the deli at the Skowhegan Walmart this month may have been exposed to hepatitis A.

Health officials say they identified one case of hepatitis A in a food service worker. That person handled food while infectious at the Walmart on Fairgrounds Market Place. Anyone who bought or ate food prepared between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on May 7, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 14, or May 15, 17, 18, 19 and 21 could be at risk of infection.

Those who are exposed to hepatitis A can avoid getting sick if they get a vaccine within 14 days of exposure.

The Maine CDC also recommends discarding any food purchased at the Walmart during the times and dates listed. They also urge anyone who may have been exposed to look out for symptoms, including tiredness, low or no appetite, stomach pain, nausea, dark-colored urine, or jaundice.
