Police say a man from Franklin County is accused of attacking a family and their dog while they were out for a walk.

According to the Sun Journal, police were called to Jackson Mountain Road in Temple on Saturday afternoon, but the suspect fled before they arrived.

The family told them a man, later identified as 31-year-old Anthony Jordan of Temple, came up to them and asked for their identification. When they refused, he allegedly choked the father and threatened his life, shoved the wife and kicked their dog. They said their child was also hit in the leg.

Police found Jordan walking on Route 4 in Strong and took him into custody.

He faces several charges and was taken to Franklin County Detention Center.
