Maine man charged in connection with deadly fire in Mexico

A man from Mexico, Maine has been charged with arson and murder in connection with a deadly fire last month.

Maine State Police say the body of 23-year-old Lacey Tidswell of Mexico was found after a fire on Tucker Street on September 26th. On Friday, police charged 23-year-old Elijah Cowper with arson and murder.

He was already being held at York County Jail on an unrelated charge.

He was expected to make his initial court appearance on Monday.
