Maine man charged with murder after wife found dead at parents’ home

A Belfast man accused of killing his wife at his parents’ home has been charged with murder.

32-year-old Margaux Whittemore of Belfast was found dead outside of a home on Giles Road in Readfield Wednesday morning.

The homeowner, 67-year-old Dorothy Whittemore, was found injured inside the house and hospitalized in critical condition.

The suspect, 34-year-old Samuel Whittemore, fled the scene and was taken into custody a short distance away.

Samuel Whittemore is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
