Maine man killed after car hits tree in Boothbay

A Jefferson man died in a crash in Boothbay on Monday.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Gregory Fetner lost control of his sedan on River Road around 5:40 Monday night. He was killed after his car hit a tree.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Police say Fetner was wearing a seatbelt and his airbags deployed.

Investigators say speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
