Police have sentenced a Stratton man for his role in a violent home invasion in Rangeley that turned fatal.

36-year-old John Raymond was accused of taking part in a plan to steal drugs from the home in July of 2016. Police said Raymond bought drugs from the home, and then drove two co-conspirators there later that evening.

The intended target of the robbery, Jordan Richard, shot and killed one of the co-conspirators.

The Department of Justice says Raymond fled the scene when he heard the commotion and was later stopped by police.

He was sentenced to two years in prison followed by three years of supervised release.
