An increase in the supply of COVID-19 vaccines to Maine’s pharmacies comes just in time for an expansion of vaccine eligibility in the state.

Retail pharmacies will receive 34,190 doses of a vaccine this week, representing a 46% increase compared to last week.

The total number of doses being sent to the state and pharmacies this week is 91,000. Of that, Maine’s CDC will receive more than 54,000 doses for hospitals, outpatient groups, public safety agencies, and Federally Qualified Health Centers.

Beginning Wednesday, all Mainers ages 16 and up will be eligible to sign up for a vaccination appointment
