Maine police arrest New Hampshire man accused of assaulting child

A New Hampshire man accused of assaulting a 4-year-old boy was taken into custody in Maine.

Police responded to a medical emergency on Jan. 19 at a home in Nashua, New Hampshire. They arrived to find a 4-year-old boy with serious head and facial injuries. Police identified the assault suspect as 25-year-old Jose Gurley, who had fled to Maine by the time a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Gurley was arrested at a home in Cornish on Friday and charged with first-degree assault. He’s being held at York County Jail while he awaits extradition to New Hampshire.
