Police in Maine say two men are facing felony drug trafficking charges as a result of a traffic stop on the turnpike in Augusta.

Police say 38-year-old Kristopher Churchill of Bradford and 26-year-old Erick Mejia of Lawrence, Massachusetts were arrested on the Maine Turnpike late Monday night.

Police stopped the vehicle for a vehicle defect near mile marker 109. A K-9 found 1.5 kilograms of fentanyl and more than $3,000 inside the vehicle.

The pair were taken to Kennebec County Jail with bail set at $75,000.
