Police identify victim and suspect in Franklin County murder-suicide

Maine State Police have identified two people found dead inside a home in New Sharon on Monday, and say the incident was a domestic violence murder-suicide.

Officers found the bodies after they went to the home on Hovey Road to conduct a wellness check.

The chief medical examiner conducted an autopsy Tuesday morning.

The victim was identified as 42-year-old Jessica Dapolito. The suspect was 55-year-old Robert Dapolito, who died by suicide.

Both died from gunshot wounds.

Police are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the incident.
