Maine Public Safety Dispatcher Arrested on Child Porn Charge

AUBURN, Maine (WGAN)  The Maine Department of Public Safety says one of their dispatchers has been arrested and charged with possessing child pornography.

43-year-old Eric Kramarz was arrested at his Auburn apartment Wednesday afternoon.  He’s been charged with possession of sexually explicit material and was taken to Androscoggin County Jail.

The State Police Computer Crimes Unit received a tip that Kramarz had been communicating over Twitter with young girls and had obtained sexually explicit photos of some of them.

Kramarz’s cellphone was seized and will be analyzed.  Detectives have also reviewed his computers he ad access to at the Public Safety dispatch center in Gray, where he has worked for 16 years.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says nothing inappropriate was found on the department’s computers.

Kramarz has been placed on administrative leave with pay.
