Maine reports 24 new coronavirus cases, one death

The Maine Center for Disease Control reported one new death and 24 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.

Public health officials in Maine have recorded 3,912 cases since mid-March.

Of those cases, 3,499 have been confirmed cases, while 413 are probable cases of covid-19.

Despite reporting one new death and 24 new cases, Maine continues to be among the states with the lowest infection and death rates in the nation.

The additional death announced Friday brings the state’s death toll to 123.

The Maine CDC reported 428 active cases, an increase of seven cases since Thursday.

Health officials say 3,361 individuals have recovered from the illness.
