The Maine Republican Party has decided against formally censuring U.S. Sen. Susan Collins over her vote to convict former President Donald Trump at his impeachment trial.

The GOP senator’s office said the state party rejected the motion Saturday on a vote of 41 to 19.

Collins says in a statement the decision is a “testament to the Republican Party’s ‘big tent’ philosophy.”

She was one of seven Republicans who voted to convict Trump of inciting an insurrection after his supporters breached the U.S. Capitol building and interrupted the counting of electoral votes.

The Senate voted 57-43 to acquit Trump.
