FARMINGTON, Maine (WGAN) A heavy police presence was reported at several businesses in Farmington Tuesday morning.

The Sun Journal reports State Police and FBI were seen converging at the former shoe shop at the corner of High Street and Cascade Leisure Park Road around 9 a.m. More than a dozen state police cruisers and unmarked vehicles were seen.

Authorities appeared to be bringing out marijuana plants from the building.

Similar scenes were reported at other businesses in the area.

The FBI tells CBS 13 they were conducting “court authorized activity at several locations in Maine in connection with an ongoing federal investigation.”

They said there’s no threat to public safety and they don’t anticipate providing any further updates today.
