Maine State Police investigating fatal collision in Clinton

A fatal crash on I-95 in Clinton is under investigation.

Maine State Police say the crash happened around 5:40 p.m. Monday at mile marker 138 northbound.

The driver of a Ford Fusion passed a Ford Escape in the travel lane. Police said the driver of the Fusion quickly changed lanes after passing in front of the Escape, causing a collision. The Ford Fusion went off the road, overturned, and collided with a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Escape was not injured.

The victim’s name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The crash is under investigation.
