Maine State Police say they stopped and arrested two out-of-state drivers who were going over 100 mph on the turnpike in separate incidents this week.

A trooper stopped a vehicle that was going 104 mph in a 70-mph zone on the Turnpike in York on Tuesday. The driver, identified as 35-year-old Paul Hardiman of Quincy, Massachusetts, was under the influence, according to police. They said he was on his way to open his family’s camp in Sabattus.

Police also arrested 35-year-old Katie Hayhurst of Schenectady, New York, on Monday. She was caught doing 125 mph on the Maine Turnpike. She eventually exited in Kennebunk, hitting a curb and flattening her tire. She was charged with failure to stop, criminal speed, and operating without a license.
