BELGRADE, Maine (WGAN) Maine State Police say a 17-year-old is under arrest after breaking into several summer homes.

A police trooper was called to Dustin Drive in Belgrade Monday afternoon after an alarm had been set off inside one of eight seasonal homes along Messalonskee Lake. The trooper soon discovered that several other homes had been broken into along Kerschner Road. The teen was found in one of the camps and taken into custody at gunpoint.

Police say eight summer homes had been entered, including one the teen had been living in recently. The boy had run away from his home in Vassalbaro. He was charged with burglary and brought back to his mother.

Police are still investigating to determine what was stolen from the homes, and expect additional charges to be filed.
