Maine woman accused of smoking crack cocaine outside vehicle while child was in the backseat

A Farmington mom is accused of smoking crack cocaine outside of a vehicle while a 3-year-old child was in the backseat.

Police arrested 33-year-old Michelle Belanger.

A witness called police after reportedly spotting the woman smoking something out of a pipe in the parking lot of the Dollar General store off Route 2 in Wilton Saturday night.

Police say they found several bags of crack cocaine, and Belanger had an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle as well.

The woman is charged with unlawful possession of drugs, endangering the welfare of a child and refusing to submit to arrest or detention.

The 3-year-old stayed with police until a relative arrived.
