Maine mother charged in death of 3-year-old

An Old Town woman has been arrested and charged in the death of her 3-year-old daughter.

Shannon Moss with Maine State Police says 28-year-old Hillary Goding was charged with manslaughter on Sunday. Goding called 911 on Friday night and told dispatchers her daughter was unresponsive and not breathing. The child died after being taken to the hospital.

An autopsy was performed Sunday but the findings have not been released.

Goding was arrested in Lincoln on Sunday and taken to the Penobscot County Jail. She’s expected to make her first court appearance Monday at 1 p.m. at the Penobscot Judicial Center.

Police are still investigating.
