AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) Maine’s four presidential electors have divided their tallies for the second time in state history.

The electors made formal the outcome of Maine’s presidential election on Monday by casting three votes for Democrat Joe Biden and one for Republican Donald Trump. Trump also collected a single electoral vote in 2016 in Maine.

Maine is one of only two states that split electoral votes.

Republican elector Peter LaVerdiere, of Oxford, said his vote was bittersweet because he thinks Trump, not Biden, won the election. Courts and election officials across the country have found no evidence of widespread fraud that would change the outcome of the election.
