A Maine man is facing attempted murder and arson charges after police say he crashed his vehicle into a Rumford home, set the house on fire and then fired shots into the residence.

Prosecutors charged 59-year-old Billy Morvent Thursday for the incident that took place 10 days ago on Route 232 in Rumford Corner village.

Morvent was taken to a hospital where he’s still recovering from injuries. He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday through video conferencing.
