Portland police say an arrest was made following reports of a suspicious man who offered a middle school student hypodermic needles.

The department says officers were called to King Middle School just before 9 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious man who had entered the building. Police later found the man near the entrance to Deering Oaks Park.

Officers investigated and found that 43-year-old Jacob Horwitch of Portland allegedly entered the girls’ bathroom and offered the needles to a female student.

Horwitch was charged with Criminal Trespass, Violation of Privacy and Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention.
