MILO, Maine (AP) Authorities in Maine say they’ve charged a man with arson after he threw his wife’s belongings on the front lawn, poured gas on them and set them ablaze.

Fire marshals say 39-year-old Jeffrey Stevens, of Milo, was arrested on Monday. They say the fire at the family home in Milo caused minor damage to the residence.

Fire marshals say articles of clothing and personal items owned by Stevens’ wife were destroyed in the blaze. Stevens was taken to jail and was awaiting a court appearance on Tuesday. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had retained an attorney.
