Man Charged in Shooting in Garland

GARLAND, Maine (WGAN)  The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection with a shooting in Garland.

The sheriff’s office says they got two 911 calls from Dexter Road Thursday night, reporting that a man had been shot.

Police say the suspect left the scene.  Police say the suspect was identified as Abimelec Castanon, a.k.a Neftali Colon, Jr.  He was arrested in Medway and charged with elevated aggravated assault.

No further details were released.

Police say the victim is recovering at a local hospital.
