SWANVILLE, Maine (AP) Maine State Police have charged a man in a killing in the town of Swanville.

Officials say 22-year-old Austin McDevitt of Morrill was charged with murder on Friday and is due in court early next week. They say he’s accused in the killing of 26-year-old Shane Sauer of Belfast.

The shooting took place outside a cabin behind a mobile home.

A woman was present at the time. Investigators said the three knew each other but declined to comment on their relationship. None of them lived at the property.

Steve McCausland of the Maine Public Safety Department says the shooting was reported at about 4:45 a.m. Friday. He said detectives still had a lot of work to do.
