A man accused of hitting a family with his car in Lincoln faces new charges for allegedly leading police on a chase and crashing into a police cruiser.

Carl Hartley, 57, of Mattawamkeag was released on bail for charges including OUI after police say he drove on to a sidewalk and hit a family of four earlier this month.

He was arrested again on Sunday when an officer tried to stop his pickup for erratic driving in Lincoln.

They said Hartley took off, then crashed into the side of a cruiser.

He faces new charges including criminal OUI and drug possession.
