Man found dead outside Hiram home Saturday morning

Maine State Police are investigating after they found a man dead outside a home in Hiram early Saturday morning. This according to our news partners at CBS13 News.

Police say they were dispatched to a home on Oak Woods Road around 1:00 a.m. requesting medical assistance for a male who had been shot.

Police say they found the man dead outside the home and attempted to render aid, unsuccessfully.

Crime scene technicians and analysts from Maine State Police Evidence Response Team continue to process the scene and are expected to be at the residence for most of the day.

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner is expected to conduct an autopsy on the individual in the coming days.

Police say there is no ongoing risk to the public at this time.
