NORTH YARMOUTH, Maine (WGME) Police say two workers were hospitalized due to carbon monoxide exposure in North Yarmouth.

Police said one of the men was found unconscious Wednesday morning after getting trapped in the basement of a home that’s under construction on Memorial Highway. He was rescued from the building and brought to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to our info partners at CBS 13 news, the man was working with gas-powered tools in the basement of the home, which was fully sealed.

Another worker who complained of a headache was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

The fire chief says CO meters usually go off between 30 to 59 parts per million. The meter in the home read 500 parts per million.
