Man pronounced dead at the scene after his car was found in the water

WEST PARIS, Maine (WGAN) Police say a man died after his vehicle ended up submerged in the water in West Paris.

Rescue crews were searching near where the car ended up in the water off Route 26 on Friday afternoon. Authorities were searching Moose Pond Brook where the car was submerged Friday morning. According to our info partners at CBS 13 news, 68-year-old David Roberts of Bryant Pond was found in the water and pulled out, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said some first responders had to be treated at the scene for hypothermia.
