PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) Portland police are investigating a shooting in the city’s Old Port.

Police spokesman David Singer says a male was removed twice from the same establishment on Wharf Street on Thursday night.

Police say he was involved in a physical altercation with a security guard at The Drink Exchange who removed him from the bar.

After the second incident, he was taken to police headquarters and issued a criminal summons, then released with a warning not to return to the bar.

Later that night, officers responded to another altercation at the same establishment in which a gun was fired at the male. He was taken to Maine Medical Center to be treated.

Police haven’t released the identities of those involved.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Portland police.
