Man Shot in Head With Pellet Gun, Critically Injured

SKOWHEGAN, Maine (AP)  Police say a Maine man was shot in the head with a pellet gun and hospitalized in critical condition.

Authorities responded to the shooting just after noon Sunday in Skowhegan.

Town Police Chief David Bucknam says a 20-year-old shot 19-year-old Charles Quimby, and the pellet may have passed through the man’s skull into his brain.

Bucknam said Monday it is unclear if the shooting was accidental. No charges have been filed.

Quimby remains in critical condition at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
