Man stabbed in Saco attempted robbery, police say

Police are searching for a suspect following a reported stabbing in Saco.

A man told police he was attacked by an individual who tried to rob him while he was walking home from work early Tuesday morning.

Residents told police the man who says he was attacked was knocking on doors and yelling for help just before 1:30 a.m. on Common Street.

According to CBS 13, police said the man was suffering from a single stab wound to the lower abdomen.

The man said he was stabbed after he refused to hand money over to the suspect, who was described as a young white male, wearing all dark clothing and a ski mask.

The victim’s injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.
