Massachusetts driver charged in crash on I-95 in Maine

WELLS, Maine (WGAN) A Massachusetts man is facing an OUI charge after a crash on I-95 in Wells.

Maine State Police say the crash happened at mile marker 18 on Monday night around 11:45.

A preliminary investigation found 43-year-old Cornelius Hagerty of Massachusetts crashed into another vehicle occupied by 64-year-old Carol Funk and 65-year-old Steven Funk of Scarborough. The pair were taken to York Hospital with minor injuries.

Hegarty, who was not injured, was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence.

Before the crash, a complaint was reported to police dispatch about Hegarty driving erratically.

The crash remains under investigation.
