Massachusetts man charged after alleged attempted kidnapping in Maine

Police in Lewiston say a Massachusetts man accused of trying to kidnap a child has been arrested.

Police said 38-year-old Kevin Dontae Nowell of Dorchester was taken into custody on Friday and was charged with multiple crimes including burglary, attempted kidnapping, and sexual contact with a minor.

Police say Nowell tried to kidnap a child from an apartment in Lewiston.

He was taken to Androscoggin County Jail with bail set at $50,000 cash.
