A grand jury has indicted a man accused of stabbing his neighbor at a mobile home park in Mechanic Falls.

50-year-old Scott O’Donnell was charged Tuesday in connection with the alleged stabbing in May.

According to the Sun Journal, O’Donnell faces up to 10 years behind bars on an aggravated assault charge, and another 30 years for an elevated aggravated assault charge.

O’Donnell’s attorney says the stabbing was self-defense.

He says the two men knew each other from serving time in prison.

At the time of the alleged stabbing, O’Donnell was on probation for one of two homicide convictions in 1991.
