A memorial service for Jason Walker, who died trying to save the lives of others during the mass shooting in Lewiston, was held Saturday.

Friends and family remember Walker as ambitious, quick-witted, generous, and caring.

According to the Bangor Daily News, Walker, 51, leaves behind a wife and two sons. His son, Collin said during the service that whatever his father did, he did it well.

He enjoyed hobbies ranging from gardening, beekeeping and bread-making. He was also a self-taught guitarist.

Walker and his friend Michael Deslauriers were both killed when they attempted to charge the gunman at Just-in-Time Recreation on Oct. 25.
