SANDY RIVER PLANTATION, Maine (WGAN) A Michigan couple was injured in a motorcycle crash in Maine on Thursday night. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department says it happened on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation just after 7:00 p.m. Thursday.

Police say 46-year-old Keith Massey was driving the motorcycle with his wife riding on the back when he lost control while trying to negotiate a sharp S-curve. The bike went off the road and struck an embankment, throwing both off the motorcycle, which then landed on them.

The couple were wearing helmets.

Massey was taken by Lifelight to Central Maine Medical Center and his wife was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Farmington.
