A shelter located on the Midcoast is coming close to reaching $150,000 in donations.

CBS 13 reports that to honor Midcoast Humane’s 75th anniversary two longtime supporters have pledged a $75,000 matching grant.

The organization is asking people to help close the gap before the beginning of summer.

That time of year is when they typically take in more animals.

Midcoast Humane serves 39 towns across the state and provides care to more than 4,000 animals each year.
