More Than 19,000 Lose Power in Maine From Sunday Winds

More than 19,000 customers lost power in Maine during high winds Sunday, with gusts up to 50 miles-per-hour in some spots.

Most of the outages were in Aroostook, Penobscot and Somerset counties.

Versant Power still reported more than 3,000 customers without power as of 9 pm Sunday, with about half in the Bangor area.

Central Maine Power reported almost 1,500 customers still without power west and northwest of Bangor Sunday at 9 pm.

Cumberland County experienced about 450 customers without power Sunday afternoon, all in the Yarmouth area.
