More than $31 million authorized through infrastructure bill to weatherize Maine homes

Maine U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King say the state will receive more than $31 million to help low-income residents weatherize their homes.

The $31,245,144 is authorized under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The help available through the Weatherization Assistance Program will include installing insulation, updating heating and cooling systems and upgrading electrical appliances to improve energy efficiency and reduce heating and electric bills, which have been rising steadily this year.

Senators King and Collins co-sponsored the legislation.
